Mixing Prints and Textures

I figured I would focus today's blog on the outfit I wore to work. I got more than a few compliments so I figured creating a replica of my look would be fun.

My outfit:

Top: Forever21 (might be available in stores, no longer online)
Skirt: Express
Belt: *unavailable
"L" swirly necklace: *unavailable (it was a Christmas present)
Earrings: The Limited [click image to be taken to the store]
Shoes: DSW

There are some many parts to this outfit that I like; I am glad that other people noticed it as well. It always makes me smile when someone says, "I love your outfit." I tried to create a juxtaposition with the lace top and the polka dot skirt. I added one of my more expensive pieces of jewelry -- my initial necklace (which I love!!). And, I also used one of my all-time favorite accessory pieces -- my kimono-style black belt.

Similar outfit:

Top: Forever21, $14.80
Skirt: Dillard's, $51
Belt: Ami Clubwear, $16.99
Necklace: Max&Cleo, $135-$415 [click image above to be taken to the store] available in gold and silver
Earrings: the same as my outfit, The Limited, $16.50 [click image to be taken to the store]
Shoes: Newport News, $21.99 [click image to be taken to the store]

Since I am unlike most women in that I prefer flats or low-heel shoes to high heels and platforms, I paired this outfit with high-heeled black/white shoes (similar to my shoe-style color combination).
